Meet our new Executive Chef! Janeth, originally from Venezuela, has over 22 years of experience in kitchens in South America, the Middle East and the Caribbean in particular. She started her career at the Renaissance Caracas La Castellana Hotel, after which she further developed her skills as a Chef de Cuisine in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Her passion for diverse cuisines and cultures brought her to the Caribbean in 2018, where she took on the role of Executive Chef in Curaçao. In recent years she gained more experience in the Bahamas. Next destination: Europe, Amsterdam.

One of the biggest smiles you can find in the kitchen: ๐Œ๐ž๐ž๐ญ ๐€๐ฅ๐›๐ž๐ซ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฐ๐ง! Born in the Domanican Republic, Alberto decided to study cooking and gastronomy (with a restaurant management direction) in Madrid. He found a job at De Librije, a 3 Michelin Star restaurant in the Netherlands. Ready for a new challenge, he joined Midtown Grill as Chef de Partie in April this year. The cosmopolitan feel to Amsterdam is what he loves most about living in this city, he mentions it allows him to meet people from all over the world. He also truly enjoys the freedom to travel both in Europe and around the world. His favourite cut?The T-bone. Why? After recommending it the first time to guests in the restaurant, they loved it so much that it became his own favorite steak. He is now dedicated to grill the perfect T-bone time after time.

๐Œ๐ž๐ž๐ญ ๐‘๐ฎ๐›๐ž๐ง ๐„๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ข๐ ๐š: our half Spanish, half Dutch Food & Beverage supervisor. Ruben is fairly new to the team, having joined last May. After studying sports science, he decided to explore his passion for hospitality. He has experience working for the Marriott Madrid Auditorium and Conference Center and the JW Marriott Grosvenor House. He also holds a WSET diploma in wines and spirits level 2. Amsterdam has always been his favorite city in Europe, and he decided to move here aged 29. He has a big interest in steak restaurants and knew Midtown Grill as #3 restaurant in Amsterdam on TripAdvisor and #88 steak restaurant in the world. He feels honored to be part of the team. His favourite cut? Without a doubt: the tomahawk. According to him, the juiciest steak with the most flavour. He says it feels like eating a piece of history, as native Americans used the bone of a tomahawk as a weapon.

Eline is the social media specialist and photographer of Midtown Grill Restaurant. After bringing the Instagram page from 0 to more than 5.000 of you over the past 3 years, introducing many of you to the restaurant and being in contact over private message, it's about time to introduce who is behind the social accounts! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Born and raised in the south of the Netherlands, she started herstudies at the Hotel Management School of Maastricht in 2013. She did a front office internship in Paris, and in her spare time she was always discovering the city with a camera in her hands. Back in the Netherlands she started her own photography business and gained more interest in marketing (social media).

Spot her in the restaurant shooting the atmosphere, latest menu or amazing colleagues and don't forget to say hi! ๐Ÿค—

We sure do love a woman working in the kitchen, so let's hype her up: ๐Œ๐ž๐ž๐ญ ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ง๐ ๐ž๐ฅ๐ž๐ฌ! (Also known as Angie). Born and raised in Argentina, she studied gastronomy in Buenos Aires and then worked in the kitchen of multiple hotels across Argentina, including the Four Seasons Hotel, Hyatt and Sheraton. She joined Midtown Grill as chef the partie early this year. She really wanted to have an experience abroad, and liked the sound of Amsterdam. Do you know she already knew our Argentinian sous-chef Gabriel before she moved here? Being from Argentina, grilling steaks must be in her blood. She calls Argentina the "Asado" country: in South American countries this is a traditional barbecue with family and friends. Her favourite cut: "I honestly can't choose, because I like different ones. If I have to pick one, I might go for a dry aged rib eye."

Meet Charles: one of our Brilliant Hosts. Charles started working for the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel in the nineties. Meeting so many amazing guests, Charles always has a ton of stories to share. He especially remembers a guest who came in years ago: a brain surgeon in Florida, staying with us for a seminar in Amsterdam. They connected over the same sense of humor. The guest travels a lot, but feels at home when staying at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel. Charles always makes sure to have his sunny side eggs waiting for him and has also had the pleasure to welcome his wife and daughter in the M Club. The first question they ask when checking in at the Front Office is: "Where is Charles?" Charles loves what he does. Guests often ask him: "How can you smile at 6.30am?" His answer?: "It is in my nature!".
