Meet our new Executive Chef! Janeth, originally from Venezuela, has over 22 years of experience in kitchens in South America, the Middle East and the Caribbean in particular. She started her career at the Renaissance Caracas La Castellana Hotel, after which she further developed her skills as a Chef de Cuisine in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Her passion for diverse cuisines and cultures brought her to the Caribbean in 2018, where she took on the role of Executive Chef in Curaçao. In recent years she gained more experience in the Bahamas. Next destination: Europe, Amsterdam.

Now, he's lighting up the kitchen at Amsterdam's best steak restaurant, turning every meal into a mouthwatering adventure!

We're thrilled to introduce Przemyslaw Reginia, or simply "Regi," as the new Restaurant Manager here at Midtown Grill. Regi is bringing passion for wine and exceptional service to our team, and we're excited for you to get to know him.
Regi's journey began in Poland, where he grew up. At 18, he got his start in the industry as a waiter at a restaurant in Kraków, thanks to his brother, who was a bar manager there. While studying food engineering at the university, he brewed his own cider for his thesis (how cool is that?!). He worked for over 7 years at a fine dining restaurant, where they recognized his love for all things vino, and they sent him off to become a certified sommelier. 🍇
This is where the story really kicks off. Regi met a Hungarian wine merchant who took him under his wing. Over the years, Regi has gathered a wealth of experience, traveling on wine trips, and earning various wine certifications. But if you ask him, Regi will tell you that the best education comes from the vineyards themselves.
You might wonder; what is his favorite wine? He didn't have to think about it: the "Josef Umathum 1991 Hallibell." Picture this: Regi, on a wine tasting trip with Josef Umathum himself, gets to taste a bottle from Josef's private archive—a wine from Regi's birth year, 1991. The vintage? Notoriously tough. But Regi? He fell in love with it at first sip, even though it was a tricky year for wines.
"If you have a connection with the wine, you'll love it, no matter what," Regi says, and we think that sums him up perfectly. He's all about that personal touch, whether it's in a glass of wine or in making sure your experience at Midtown Grill is unforgettable.
